Surviving Finals Week

Finals week? More like finals month. My planner is filled with weeks of presentations and exams. Printing page after page of cited work, spreadsheets and ads. I've entered the bachelors program and it's definitely more challenging than the previous year. Some classes have three part finals where you present concepts, then research and then the actual creative work.
Last week I was emotionally done with the books, group emails and planning. I was tired of the insane loop that I found myself in. I didn't feel stressed, I didn't feel annoyed. I was unfocused and a little burnt out. I did well on my projects that were handed in but I  hated how I was feeling.

After a week of this zombie like daze, I had enough. I may not know how to adult very well, but I know how to survive finals week.

Take a break!
Go for a walk or spend the weekend with a friend. Getting out of the stressful environment works wonders. removing yourself from a situation or work load can clear your mind and leave you slightly more rejuvenated. Taking a break is necessary for not only your sanity but for your work load. You can't function at your fullest potential if you're sleeping on on your laptop.

Stay hydrated
I'm sure you love that you're on your third cup of coffee for the day. Drinking so much caffeine can have negative effects like, causing you to crash after it's passed through your system. Alternate between your favorite cup of joe and some H20. Drinking water helps keep you feel alert.

Work out
Go to your local gym to get those endorphin's pumping. Not only is this a great way to de-stress but it's a great way to feel energized. Take a yoga or spin class to feel rejuvenated.  When you keep your body in shape you mental state benefits from it too!

Let me know what works for you during stressful times like finals!
