Scallops and Spring

Sun filled days are actually upon us and a new trend welcomes the Spring season with open arms. From accessories like watches and hand bags to slips and dresses I've noticed a new trend happening. I first saw a hint of it when I passed the Kate Spade store in the flatiron district. The bags had a scalloped edge and were displayed with flowers inside as if they were flower pots. From there I can't stop seeing this detail everywhere.

Kate Spade watch and bag. This detail reinforces the feminine charm that the Kate Spade brand carries. The watch is tasteful with a neutral black and rose gold accent. The handbag is sweet and has the perfect sizing of detail as to not throw off the silhouette. 

Free People lace slip with scallop edge. This detail is playful and sexy at the same time. The hem rises on the sides creating more shape and movement. 

Urban Outfitters scallop dress also has the detail around the arm hole. While some would put it along the neckline this change is sweet and adds some personality. The straight line boxy look gives an edge to this light pink number.

This blazer is still sweet with the scallop detailing down the front. The detail completes the look and gives the impression of an extra accessory.
